On the 24th August Rock Engineering practitioners from the gold sector got together to discuss the “best practice in remnant extraction”. The meeting was hosted by AngloGold Ashanti and presenters from all the major stakeholders took part. The companies represented included Goldfields, AngloGold Ashanti, Harmony (BLA) and OHMS. The idea was to share the rules and procedures currently used for remnant extraction in the various mining houses. The presentations included:
Discussions and feedback after the meeting were very positive and future meetings are planned to discuss the burning issues in the gold mining industry
