An Mpumalanga mining company is looking for a strata control officer with extensive open pit experience.


Requirements

2-5 yrs exp
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
strata control certificate from chamber of mines- essential
High degree of computer literacy.
Drivers licence code B (08)

Duties:

The incumbent candidate will be doing the following:

Assist with the implementation and management of the Mine Slope Management Program;

Conduct daily Strata Control assessments of the open pits and compilation, distribution and communication of reports relating to such visits;

Undertake geotechnical borehole logging of all surface borehole core and capture of data into a SABLE database;

Ensure all safety standards are adhered to;
Declare and manage special areas;

Conduct minor rock related incident investigations;
Maintain the Open pit Ground Control Districts Plan.

Competencies:

Experience in open pit production or from a geotechnical backround.

ability to work in a highly pressurized environment and handle stress.
